NOTE¹: Educational research has shown that students who practiced for external exams by doing test item like questions increased their exam scores considerably.    NOTE²: The  items used are taken from the OAIP, IB Exams, A Level Exams, Advanced Placement Exams and Chemistry Olympiad Exams. Hints to Effectively Use the Practice Chem OnLine Service:

The service can be used effectively to learn High School Chemistry and to test your understanding of High School Chemistry.

To Learn High School Chemistry:

• Have several chemistry texts, calculator, pencils and paper available.
• Login to the service and choose the topic you wish to learn and choose the 25 item quiz.
• Read the questions and use the texts to answer them. You have about 5 minutes to answer each question before the program timesout. If it does just start over again, this is not a test.
• Repeat as manny times as necessary for you to have confidence that you have learned the material
• Since the database includes most types of questions used by teachers to evaluate a topic you can effectively learn a topic by answering the questions. Most topics have approximately 100 items so in 3 repititions you will have seen most of the questions,

To Test Your Understanding of High School Chemistry:

• Have a calculator, pencils and paper available.
• Login to the service and choose the topic you wish to test and choose the 10 item quiz.
• Treat the quiz in the same manner as you would a quiz in class, do not cheat yourself. You should be able to obtain 80% on serveral repeats of the 10 item quizzes. Go over the questions you had wrong looking up the answers in your text
